The Guild community is supportive, understanding, and open to diverse spiritual views. I have never felt pressure to conform to someone else's beliefs here at the Guild. There is a freedom to converse openly with others and to express one's self spiritually and creatively that is not always typical of all faith-centered groups.
It's wonderful to be around other artists in a safe place—amazing to be able to sit and dialogue about art and God and faith. There are not many places you can do that.
Learning how to live in community has been wonderful. It is hard to find that opportunity.
Most compelling for me is the way that our creative work takes place in a rhythm of community life, with morning and evening prayers, shared meals, presentations in the evening, and conversations in the in-between places. Those who come to the Guild may not necessarily identify themselves as artists in a vocational sense. But each person comes with some particular sense of the interplay between faith and art, along with the desire to explore that interplay in their own lives and in community. In the midst of a vocation that beckons me to do a lot of explaining, the Guild is a place where I am most in my element.
This is a unique and special place. I love the time I have here for reflection and for art.
At the Guild I was given the gifts of time, encouragement, knowledge, friendship, faith and art. I hadn't realized how desperately I needed those things and couldn't have imagined how completely I would have all of those needs fulfilled.
Thanks so much for all you did to make my experience this past weekend so wonderful. Your combined efforts, offered with care and grace, created a sense of hospitality that would rival that of the House of Elrond.
The Guild feels like home.
I often feel like both an honored guest and a member of the family. I try to return the love!
The Guild is so warm and nurturing. Beautiful people. Prayerful. Hospitable. Home away from home! A real “Kingdom” place. A place of renewal, discovery, growth and refreshment.
Thank you for making our family welcome, and for the extra care for our daughters. They liked helping in the garden and kitchen.
This place remains an oasis and wellspring for me. The Guild is weathering the transition well and the spirit and challenge and nurture I have grown to depend on were very evident again!
All was excellent! The staff was as always gracious and kind. The Guild process of making a place for spirit to envelope us in it’s love and creativity is alive and very, very well!
A delicious combination of warmth/hospitality/intimacy with respect for boundaries. Wackiness not only tolerated but encouraged. The food is world-class; God bless Nathan and Imelda.
The Grunewald spirit grows and stays the same all at once.
Staff was always friendly and helpful. Food first-class and facilities comfortable and pleasant. Morning walks a real plus. Third time here; will be back.
This was the best week ever! Got me out of a rut; the most energy I’ve had in awhile.
My first visit; I felt wrapped in love and surrounded with caring persons from staff to associates. Meals were beyond my expectation. I love healthy, well-prepared and planned meals, especially from fresh vegetables and fruit. My room was very nice. I loved the three colors of Michelangelo! The aqua blues radiated with evening light. The bed was comfortable and facilities cleaned daily.
This has been the best year yet for me. Blessings to the Guild.
This was a little bit of heaven for me this week. I hope to return and bring others.
I was “blissed out” most of the time. Fixated on the wonder of it all.
Love being in community where love, laughter and fellowship abound!
My first time here---was welcomed into this very rich community and had a very enriching experience---thank you!
Everything was “Perfectly Wonderful.”
